Seyfullah Şağban, who was appointed to replace Van Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Director Ali Kemal Atlı, who left his post in October 2024, is carrying out 6 duties together. Şağban, who carries out the duty of directorate, is also the acting director of Urban Transformation within the directorate. Şağban is also the Head of the Department of Zoning and Urbanisation and the Department of Real Estate and Expropriation in the Metropolitan Municipality of Wan, which is governed by a trustee. 

 

CLASSMATE OF AKP PROVINCIAL CHAIR 

 

Şağban was also appointed as a member of the municipality's council and a member of the board of directors of Belvan, the municipality's company. It was learnt that Şağban, who holds 6 positions in the city, is a classmate of former AKP Van Provincial Chair Emre Güray from Afyon Kocatepe University, Department of Surveying Engineering. Şağban, who is from Çorum, was appointed as a control engineer to Çorum Directorate of Land Registry Cadastre after the CHP won the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Şağban's path this time fell to the Wan Metropolitan Municipality, which was appointed a trustee with Güray's initiative. On 20 June 2020, Şağban was appointed as the head of the municipality's Department of Zoning and Urbanisation, and after the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party won the elections, he was removed on 14 October 2024 and made the Provincial Director of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change. 

 

After the appointment of a trustee to the Wan Metropolitan Municipality on 15 February 2025, Şağban was appointed to 4 more positions in the municipality, this time as provincial director. Şağban, who is still carrying out all of these duties, was alleged to have other commissions and duties.
