NEWS CENTER – In attacks carried out by Syria’s transitional government targeting the Şêxmeqsûd (Sheikh Maqsoud), Eşrefiyê (Ashrafieh), and Beni Zeyd neighborhoods, 7 people were killed and 46 others were wounded.

Groups affiliated with Syria’s transitional government continue their attacks on the Şêxmeqsûd, Eşrefiyê, and Beni Zeyd neighborhoods of Aleppo using mortars, artillery, and tanks. It was reported that the attacks were carried out by Turkey-backed paramilitary groups, including Hemzat, Emshat, Sultan Murad, and Nureddin Zengi.

Aleppo Internal Security Forces stated that they responded to the attacks within the framework of legitimate self-defense, prevented armed groups from entering the Şêxmeqsûd neighborhood, and forced them to retreat after inflicting heavy losses.

According to ANHA, nearly all of the 7 people killed in the attacks were civilians, and at least 46 people, including children were wounded. Sabri Mihemed Ebdulqadir, a member of the Aleppo Internal Security Forces, was killed, while six other internal security members were injured. In the neighborhoods, which are already under blockade, the attacks are further deepening the humanitarian crisis.
