Iran executes two detained youths

NEWS CENTER – Iran has executed two young people, Muhammad Amin Biglari and Shahin Vaheparast, who were detained during protests in January, it has been reported.

According to Mizan News Agency, Muhammad Amin Biglari and Shahin Vaheparast were executed this morning in the prison where they were being held. The two had been arrested in February for participating in protests and were sentenced to death on charges of “attacking a secret military base” and “taking part in its destruction and arson.”
 
The case of Muhammad Amin Biglari and Shahin Vaheparast was heard in Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Abolghasem Salavati, where they were sentenced to death on February 8.
 
Iran has executed at least three youths in the past week on charges related to participation in protests. In the same period, six activists detained under the same political case file have also been executed.
