34 women and children from ISIS-affiliated families, who have long been held at the Roj Camp in the rural area of the Dêrik city in Rojava (West Kurdistan), were handed over to the Australian government.

 

According to reports, these families consist of individuals holding Australian citizenship or foreign nationals affiliated with Australia. The transfer was carried out within the framework of international coordination and in cooperation with institutions affiliated with the Autonomous Administration.

 

The Roj Camp was established on 24 June 2015 to house ISIS-affiliated families. The camp also hosts Iraqis and Syrians, the majority of whom are from European countries. More than two thousand people (820 families) are currently residing in the camp.
