Families and lawyers organized two separate events in Karame Square in Suwayda and in Shehba city, demanding clarification on the fate of missing persons and the release of detainees.

Participants called on international, legal, and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their responsibilities regarding what they described as a humanitarian issue.

Demonstrators carried photographs of detainees and held banners reading “vegera wan û aşkerakirina aqûbeta wan” (“their return and the clarification of their fate”).

Speaking at the event, Amal Fehid, sister of detainee Emar Selman Fehid, said her brother had been detained while returning home, asking, “What crime had he committed to be arrested?” She called on international organizations to clarify the fate of the missing.

A relative of one of the missing said they joined the event to make the voices of families heard around the world, calling for the release of all detainees and the disclosure of the missing persons’ fate.

Another speaker appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international institutions to obtain information on the condition of the missing and provide support to their families.

The daughter of missing person Hikmet Xelîl El Hemod also addressed human rights organizations, urging immediate action to uncover the fate of her father.
