The Alliance of the Iranian Kurdistan Political Parties, issued a statement following its meeting on 16 June. The statement said: "At the meeting, participants assessed the latest developments, the consequences of the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran, the subsequent ceasefire, and initiatives aimed at signing an agreement between the United States and Iran. Following discussions on Iran’s political future, the following conclusion was reached: the peoples of Kurdistan and Iran, through their own struggles and demands for rights, constitute the fundamental force capable of bringing an end to the Islamic Republic regime. In reality, the regime’s greatest fear is the rights-based struggle of the peoples within Iran; these movements have faced severe repression and bloody crackdowns."

 

The Alliance of Political Forces of Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhilat) believes that the Kurdish people’s legitimate cause and freedom struggle have a long and deeply rooted history. This struggle is not shaped by any war or regional rivalry.

 

In our view, contrary to some widespread international assessments, the Islamic Republic is structured in such a way that neither agreements nor even comprehensive settlements can alter its fundamental nature and character. Therefore, real change can only be achieved through forces rooted in the internal dynamics of society, the unity of Kurdish forces and pro-democracy movements in Iran, and the continuation of civil struggles. The foundation of any future transformation will be the will, efforts, and national resistance of the Kurdish people and the other peoples of Iran."

 

The statement continued: "While our alliance believes that the weakening of the Islamic Republic as a result of conflicts and wars may contribute to the rights struggles of the peoples of Iran, it relies primarily on its own will and capacity for action. It does not tie the fate of the struggle to external powers or to wars involving the Islamic Republic. Following the war, the Islamic Republic of Iran intensified waves of arrests and executions against political and civil activists, increased repression throughout society, and sought to weaken the Kurdish movement through ongoing attacks against Kurdish parties in Southern Kurdistan (Başûr). However, the Kurdish movement has not retreated in the face of this pressure and oppression."

 

The Alliance of Political Forces of Eastern Kurdistan concluded, saying that it "considers it essential, in this period, to develop joint efforts in response to the demands of the people and the needs of the Kurdish movement, to preserve and strengthen internal unity, to raise the level of media and communication activities, and to participate effectively and credibly in collective decision-making processes. It will also continue its efforts to develop a common discourse, carry out joint field activities, and combat all approaches that foster despair. The Kurdistan freedom movement will continue its struggle until its legitimate rights are achieved."
