NEWS CENTER – Kurdish and internationalist youth will organise a 3-day march in Germany for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdish and internationalist youth are preparing for the “Long March” in support of Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom. As in previous years, this traditional march will be carried out under a new slogan: “March for Freedom and Democracy.”

The march will take place in North Rhine-Westphalia, and young people from various European countries, including Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium, are expected to participate.

The marchers will gather on September 9 in Cologne, take steps for freedom in Cologne on September 10, Düsseldorf on September 11, and Dortmund on September 12. On September 13, they will participate in the Kurdistan Cultural Festival in Dortmund.

Participation will be coordinated through the communication channels released by the Long March Preparatory Committee.

YOUTH WILL LEAD THE WAY

In a written statement, the Preparatory Committee drew attention to the exploitation and plundering policies of the capitalist system, stating: “While the system of capitalist modernity drags society toward an irreversible abyss, Leader Apo opened a door of hope with his ‘Call for Peace and a Democratic Society’ on February 27. Leader Apo, who revived Kurdish identity, has now made a historic call for the future of all peoples to be born from the sprouts of this revival.

Without a doubt, as in every era, young people who have led society will once again take on their responsibility for social change and transformation.”

CRISES

The statement continued: “The crises created by capitalist modernity are pushing humanity closer to destruction each day. While wars fueled by hegemonic powers deepen in every corner — from the Middle East to Asia, from Africa to South America — the destruction of nature through exploitation and pillaging intensifies the ecological crisis, making the doomsday bells ring louder. Young people, who have the dynamism to shape the future, are being used as instruments of destruction in a world driven to disaster by the powers' thirst for control. The capitalist monster condemns youth to a futureless existence while pushing the illusion that the only way out of this darkness is to live in servitude to the system. In doing so, they are sacrificing our tomorrows for their own insatiable hunger.”

The statement added: “For this reason, the system of capitalist modernity continuously sedates youth through special warfare tactics and a rising techno-fascist order. These societal murderers, with their gerontocratic mindset, seek to destroy the dynamic and creative identity of youth, using them merely as tools for their own agenda. This is exactly why youths must lead the construction of a new world by organizing a new socialist, communal life — and they will!

With the democratic modernity paradigm and his solution for a democratic society against the nation-state, Leader Apo has provided a roadmap for peaceful coexistence among peoples and for humanity to restore balance with nature.”

‘WITHOUT FREEDOM OF LEADER APO, THERE CAN BE NO PEACE’

The statement concluded: "Without the freedom of Leader Apo, there can be neither peace nor democracy. That is why we call on young people living in Europe to join the upcoming ‘March for Freedom and Democracy’ for the freedom of the Leader. Let us gather as youth in Cologne on September 9 to begin the Long March, and walk together toward freedom. With the dynamism of youth, let us close the chapter of an era that has enslaved humanity for thousands of years and open a new chapter — one of democracy, socialism, and freedom. Let us build the new world together.

To insist on humanity is to insist on socialism!”
