ANKARA - The construction of the unlicensed KYK Dorimitory continues in ODTU where the chopping off of the trees have stopped. The students who are waiting a watch in front of the construction site will symbolically seal off the site.
The chopping off the trees in Middle East Technical University (ODTU) in the forest area which has been transferred to Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) for 49 years have stopped after negotiations with ODTU rector Verşan Kök.
However, the students who stated thatthe construction still continues, waited a watch outside the construction site the whole night. The students who stated that they visited the area with CHP MP Murat Emir, said that concrete was poured to the site where the trees were chopped.
The police are also waiting in ODTU,changing shifts. The students can only get inside the campus after a body search.
STUDENTS WILL SEAL THE CONSTRUCTION
Students will gather in front of the rectorate at 17.30 and will march to the forest area. They will later seal the construction site symbolically. The students are planning to hold a forum again in the forest area.
President of the Chamber of Architects Ankara Branch Tezcan stated that they are expecting Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will actually be sealing the construction in the upcoming days.
