MARDİN - During the house raids in Mardin, 3 people including HDP Nusaybin Mayor Ferhat Kut were taken into custody.
Many houses were raided in Nusaybin and Kızıltepe districts of Mardin early this morning. People's Democratic Party (HDP) Nusaybin Municipal Co-Mayor Ferhat Kut, Nusaybin Municipal Councilor Mehmet Emin Alkan and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mardin Province Co-Mayor Leyla Bozkurt were detained.
The people taken under custody in scope of an investigation are to be brought to Provincial Security Directorate. Lawyers stated that they could not obtain any information as to why they were detained.
The number of detentions may increase, the attorneys said.
Nusaybin HDP building was also raided and trashed by the police.
