Attacks against Baloch people have been continuing in Pakistan's Balochistan province since 21 March. While many people were detained in the attacks, at least 10 people lost their lives and more than 100 people were injured. 

 

Baloch Activists Campaign (BAC) announced on its virtual media account that journalist Mohammad Usman Khan was detained yesterday while buying a phone in a shopping centre in Ketta and that he was not heard from. BAC reported that Khan's detention was confirmed by his father and that he was abducted by unidentified armed men dressed in government uniforms.

 

Khan had previously been abducted by law enforcement agencies and had been subjected to torture and oppression for a long period of time. It was reported that Khan was frequently threatened for reporting on rights violations by the Pakistani state against Baloch and Pashtuns.

 

Reacting to Khan's abduction, citizens called for solidarity with the hashtag "#ReleaseUsmanKhan" on their virtual media accounts.
